Mr. Barberia has rejoined our team with over 25 years executive management experience and proven track record relating to successfully advising, prospecting, developing, investing and managing over $1 Billion worth of deal flow transactions in energy, environment, transport and infrastructure assets across the Americas. Held numerous executive management positions as an Officer and Director for major Spanish global energy and infrastructure companies for its US and Canadian start-up divisions. Managed the entire business cycle on multiple projects, executing a project portfolio of over $450 million of energy and infrastructure investments across the United States and Canada

 

Previously he was senior Vanness Group consulting officer for engagements throughout North America for private transportation corporations and federal and state transit agencies such as CXS railroad and Sea Land maritime, Canadian National Railways, the Metropolitan Transportation Authority and Metro North Commuter Railroad in New York City and Amtrak and the Federal Railroad Administration, and DOT in Washington DC where he gained significant economic and financial consulting and management experience in infrastructure, transport and logistics including freight rail, passenger transit systems, road and ports. For Vanness, he participated in a team that advised and assisted several bilateral and multilateral lending agencies, private US corporations and infrastructure funds on several projects across Latin America including countries like, Brazil, Bolivia Ecuador, Chile and Costa Rica, performing due diligence on going concern valuations, and providing technical support on repositioning, restructuring, turnaround and privatization of state-owned infrastructure and transport enterprises working on projects ranging up to $500 million in capitalization,

 

Some of these engagements included:

 

  • Financial valuation and Financeprivatization expert, for the National Bolivian railways (ENFE) and Inter American Development Bank, 1996.

 

  • Examined freight and passenger traffic, their competitive trends in transport market of Ecuador and the potential impact on the railroad traffic by the construction of government projected highways, for the National railways of Ecuador and World Bank, 1995.

 

  • Commercial/Finance Expert, Cruz Blanca Acquisition of Chilean Railways, Latin America Infrastructure Fund (GE Capital) Chile 1994.

 

  • For CSX Corp and Sea Land, and the International Finance Corporation (IFC) was retained as a commercialization expert to manage the acquisition of several transportation infrastructure projects in Brazil. RFFSA Regions 2/7 (now EF Central Atlantica) and RFFSA Regions 3/4 (now MRS Logistica).

 

Education: Bachelor of Arts (International Marketing) and EMBA in Finance, both from Rochester Institute of Technology, New York. Languages: English and Native in Spanish, working knowledge of Portuguese.
