Formerly Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of the Missouri-Kansas-Texas Railroad (acquired by Union Pacific Railroad)  Mr. Ziebarth has over 40 years of experience in the railroad industry primarily in the areas of railway financial and Treasury management, sale and transfer of transportation assets, business analysis and railroad start-ups. He also served as financial and strategic advisor to Bangor & Aroostook Railroad and affiliates.

  • Performed due diligence in all areas (financial, operations, maintenance, and marketing), devised financial packaging and negotiated terms of debt and equity financing.
  • Negotiated purchase of a connecting regional package offered by Canadian Pacific Railroad.
  • Prior assignments included the successful acquisition of a short-line in Nova Scotia, Canada and another in New Mexico, USA. For Vanness
  • Assists Vanness in due diligence studies of the financial and accounting aspects of loan applicants to the USDOT Rail Infrastructure Finance program.
  • Uses Treasury skills to review and analyze borrowers’ existing and proposed loan terms and covenants for Vanness.
  • Rail Consultant to Northeast Texas Rural Rail District (NETEX)
  • Studied various forms of private sector participation in railway transport (the Red Oriental) in eastern Bolivia examining budgetary impacts and practical consequences for all participants.
  • Senior Consultant, Sri Lanka Railways: prepared recommendations for reorganizing the enterprise, personnel rationalization, reform of pricing and marketing, changed operating practices, and rationalized passenger services.
  • Advised Private Investment Fund / Saudi Arabia for contract operation of Saudi Arabian Railways.
